Up close with Eve Air Mobility’s full-scale Evtol prototype.

Eve Air Mobility’s eVTOL has gone from an innovative project created within Embraer-X (the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer’s unique business accelerator)|, to a full size prototype in only seven years. Eve’s goal has always been to not only lead the evolution of mobility, but to help accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable air ride while giving people access to the sky like never before.

Working with Embraer-X allowed Eve the freedom to access the potential of the brand-new market; develop and test various business models and engage with collaborators from across the ecosystem. During these development years, the team made all its key decisions, including the design of the aircraft, its collaborative approach to operations solutions, and Eve’s recognition of the importance of not just creating an innovative new vehicle, but developing a portfolio of products and services, operations solutions and air traffic management capabilities.

These seven years of intense research, design, and innovation led to the assembly of Eve’s first full-scale eVTOL prototype, which was unveiled via a video presentation during July’s Farnborough Airshow.

“Our global team of engineers has shown exceptional dedication and expertise to successfully assemble our first full-scale eVTOL prototype,” said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility. “This is a significant milestone that underscores our commitment to safety, accessibility, and innovation. As we now turn our attention toward the preparation of a rigorous testing campaign, we are not just creating an aircraft, we’re building a comprehensive ecosystem of solutions that will shape the future of the Advanced Air Mobility industry.”

In addition to the roll-out of its prototype, Eve also announced that it has completed the selection of the primary suppliers for its eVTOL aircraft. As Eve advances into the next phase of development, the eVTOL prototype already has a series of comprehensive testing campaigns. These campaigns are designed to meticulously assess every aspect of the aircraft’s operation and performance, from flight capabilities to safety features.

Bordais concludes: “This extensive testing phase begins the next fundamental step in our journey. It ensures that our eVTOL meets the high standards and expectations we’ve set for performance and safety.”
