AMAC AEROSPACE: BUSY IN BASEL

News — 23.08.24

Founded in 2007, AMAC Aerospace AG was created to support VIP/VVIP customers.

Today, AMAC Aerospace’s Basel facility is running at full power with over 30 aircraft undergoing maintenance or completion across its five hangars. Two-thirds of these aircraft benefit from AMAC’a’s one-stop-shop infrastructure, enabling simultaneous cabin or system repairs, upgrades, or modifications alongside scheduled maintenance. AMAC’s internal Part 21-J design organisation and Part 21-G production organisation shops are always available to support its Part 145 maintenance customers.

Wide-body maintenance is a major part of AMAC’s business and in May alone it had five slots dedicated for the VVIP jets. These included the following:

• 1x A747-8: Annual maintenance check and inspection, including a C-Check
• 1x HoS A330-200: Performing 24/48 month last out- of-phase Check, addressing several cabin items during the layover
• 1x Private A330-200: Completing a heavy C-Check with structural repairs
• 1x HoS A330-200: Conducting a landing-gear change
• 1x A350: Continuing a VVIP completion project

AMAC Aerospace has also been awarded a contract for a landing-gear replacement on a HoS Boeing 777- 300ER, which they are about to schedule. Already featuring an AMAC VVIP cabin, this 777 is one of the company’s returning clients. A downtime of only two weeks also contributes to repeat business.
