GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP: G500 AND G600 EXCEED 100,000 FLIGHT HOURS EACH
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced that its clean-sheet Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 aircraft have surpassed 100,000 flight hours, each.
Both aircraft are recognised for their industry-leading cabin comfort (with award-winning seating and interior design) and their performance, which comes courtesy of their Pratt & Whitney Canada engines. The G500 can fly 5,300 nautical miles/9,816 kms at Mach 0.85 or 4,500 nm/8,334 km at Mach 0.90 and the G600 can fly 6,600 nm /12,223 km at Mach 0.85 or 5,600 nm/10,371 km at Mach 0.90. Both aircraft have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925.
“Our award-winning G500 and G600 continue to demonstrate impressive performance,” said Mark Burns, president, of Gulfstream. “This achievement is a result of the strong demand and high flight activity we’re seeing from customers around the world. Having exceeded 100,000 flight hours further reiterates the durability and dependability of the G500 and G600.”
Back in May, the G600 received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for steep-approach operations, just months after the G500 obtained it. This authorisation allows the fleet to access some of the world’s most challenging airports, giving operators even more convenience and flexibility.
With more than 260 aircraft in service today, the G500 and G600 fleet holds more than 90 city-pair speed records combined.
