POLLINE

The smallest detail makes the biggest difference

Imagine eating the freshest seafood bought from a nearby fish market the same day, paired with handmade pasta prepared on-site. Add authentic sauces and pretty plates, all in the heart of Jumeirah, a stone’s throw from the sea.

Welcome to Polline – a pasta atelier specialising in seafood dishes, fresh pasta, and artisanal bread, all prepared from scratch on-site by the owner chef himself.

Everything we tried at Polline was good, but we especially loved our sourdough bread with chilli butter to start with and the giant charcoal barbeque prawns that followed.

Choose from a range of pastas for your next course.

I had Sardinian fregola with clams, but maybe you’d like some fresh egg fazzoletti, or pici Genovese? The list goes on, and do have some pasta with the lobster bisque sauce too. If you can’t decide, opt for their ‘Feed Me’ three-course menu that includes a starter, pasta of the day, and a dessert. Believe me, it will be hard to choose.

There is also choice of meats and whole fish for secondi, with accompaniments of charcoal corn, warm potato salad, and caramelised carrots. There are plenty of vegetarian choices at Polline including a lion’s mane mushroom dish. They source these from the excellent Below Farm company in Abu Dhabi.

The best the region has to offer: Polline works closely with local farmers, fishermen, and artisans to source the freshest and finest products.

What would Italian dessert be without gelato, so yes, Polline delivers on that too. Try the excellent jaggery gelato before you go for a taste of something incredible. Of course, classic chocolate gelato is also available, but I doubt you’ll have room!

Add to that Polline’s commitment to community events and you have a must-try venue if you love pasta just like Mamma used to make it, with tastes of the sea.

Find Polline on the ground floor of the Beach Walk Boutique hotel in Um Suquiem. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. It’s not a high-end, international brand (yet) so it may not be obvious for a special meal out, but once you’ve tried it, you’ll know you’ve made the right choice.
